Alex Davies is the lead singer of the English Pop/Rock band Elliot Minor (Formally The Academy.) He is also the songwriter of the band and plays the guitar.

Alex was born into the classical music world and was excpected to become a concert violinist. When he met band member Ed Minton in Uppingham School in 2000, his eyes were opened into the world of rock.

The pair formed a duo called The Academy in 2004. During the last year at school, Ed and Alex built a recording studio in their attic flat after becoming serious about their band. They spent their spare time writing songs, preforming and recording demos. Alex took a gap year along with Ed to built a more suitable home studio in his garage.

In October 2005, Alex found himself pciking up his younger brother with their current drummer, Dan Hetherton at Minster School in York. Alex arranged for a jam back at his garage and soon after Dan joined the band. The new trio began writing new songs, improving old songs and sending out demos.

For live preformances, the band needed a keyboard and a bass player. Alex invited his childhood friend, Ali Paul to join the band along with another of his children friends and Dan's brother, Teddy Hetherton.

Alex was also a chorister at York Minster Choir School along with Dan and Ali.
